CLASS LIBRARY VISITS

MassArt faculty are welcome to bring their classes to the library to meet with a librarian to do research or to view different collections. Sessions last about an hour and usually take place in the library space. If you would like to arrange a visit or want to know more, email Greg Wallace at greg.wallace@massart.edu. Please allow at least one week's notice when scheduling.

OPTICS: DRAWING TO FIXED IMAGES, OBJECTS FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHIC TEACHING COLLECTION

Introduces students to how artists used optics to create their work long before optics were eventually used to create photographs. Starts with the camera obscura / lucida, includes photographic objects like Daguerreotypes, and ends with Polaroids and Viewmasters.

POP-UP LIBRARY CARTS

Not a library visit but a visiting library. Faculty can have a cart of library books delivered to their classroom anywhere on campus for use in teaching or for students to browse during breaks. Book carts can focus on many different topics like collage, figure drawing, photography, etc. (Faculty can request up to 3 pop-ups per semester.)
